written by Dusty Tuesday 9/9 > flyingWake up at 9am (4pm Belgium time) to get everything done for the trip. Flying Chicago to London, begin drinking contest with Christian. After four or five Johnny Walker & 7s, we're cut off. Just about to finally fall asleep when Christian wakes me up because they are coming around with breakfast. The steward says "You can have more liquor now" - apparently they can only serve so much per hour or something. Since we are about to land and it is now 7am in London, I pass.Wednesday 9/10 > The Pit's - Kortrijk, BelgiumArrive at Heathrow Airport at 8am. It's freezing outside but really muggy and uncomfortable on the shuttle bus and in the airport. We have no idea where we are going to get to our connecting flight, so we walk back and forth until asking someone. Sit waiting for them to announce our gate. Finally get on the plane and pass out in my window seat immediately. Feels like I blinked and when I open my eyes we have already landed in Amsterdam. I find out that I missed an extremely shaky flight and crappy sandwich with some sort of pickle spread.We find Seetz and Srini at the airport. Srini has a sign to welcome us: "The Mistreaters - Milwaukee's Worst!!" Get in the van and drive to Belgium. It is uncomfortable, not because of the van, but just because I am sick of being in a cramped space, and really just want to lie down, stretch out, and sleep. Everything gets better when we get to The Pit's. We have a great home cooked meal and some great Belgian beer. Take a walk around the neighborhood and when we get back, people start showing up. We were told the place was small, and it is. Before the show, I go upstairs and slam 3 cups of coffee, and when I come back downstairs the place is wall-to-wall people. We are the only band, and everyone goes nuts. They make us play an encore, even though Christian's drumkit is falling apart. After the show, the guys who run the club rent a house for us to stay in and bring us another case of beer to fall asleep with.
